For Clients

  • We believe in digital art for five core reasons: accessibility, innovation, wellbeing, sustainability and authenticity.

    Accessibility

Digital art is much more accessible than traditional art forms. With the rise of digital technology, anyone with a computer and internet can create, share and access digital art. Digital art offers variety with the simple click of a button, which means you get to celebrate a more diverse selection of artists and art styles, as well as make their art accessible to a wider audience.

    Innovation

Artists have always led the way with new forms of technology, and digital art is no exception.

Think of digital art as the newest painting technique. Except that it is changing all the time, because it is tied up with the internet and computer software. This allows artists to push the boundaries of what is possible, creating new and innovative works that are more engaging than traditional forms of art.

By supporting digital art, you are supporting innovation and fresh ideas.

    Wellbeing

We prioritise the wellbeing of our audience, promoting a positive and enriching experience in art and culture without advertising.

The arts have been shown to have significant impacts on our wellbeing, through providing for emotional escapism and play, promoting optimism and delight, and encouraging a deeper connection to peers and the environment.

    Sustainability

Digital art is more sustainable than traditional art forms, as it does not require the use of physical materials such as paint, canvas or paper. It also does not require carbon-emitting forms of transportation to transport materials, nor does it leave behind any waste. This makes it more environmentally friendly, and also reduces the cost and logistics of creating and displaying art.

    Authenticity

We value authenticity by promoting content that is genuine, honest, and community-minded. All of our artists are locally based in Australia. We promise you: no advertising and no screensavers.

  • A non-fungible token, NFT, is a proof of ownership and authenticity of an asset (usually digital). Like cryptocurrency, NFTs are created or ‘minted’ using blockchain technology.

While cryptocurrency is fungible, each NFT is non-fungible (as the name states). This means that each NFT is unique and not interchangeable with any other NFT. It is a one-of-a-kind asset an cannot be copied, substituted or subdivided.

In other words, similar to owning a certificate for a physical artwork, NFTs provide you with an authentication for purchased digital artworks.

  • NFTs are an additional way for artists to generate revenue and protect artists' works. You can turn a digital representation of a physical artwork into an NFT, and sell that. The NFT version will have a unique token, verifying its authenticity. Meanwhile, you still separately can own and sell the underlying physical artwork.

  • A digital, crypto or NFT wallet is where you can securely store your cryptocurrency. We use MetaMask, which is one of the most popular ones. It is free to set up, until you put money in it (which converts to cryptocurrency). This guide provides more details.

  • Web3 is the next generation of the internet.

Web 1 was the static web. The display was non-interactive and it functioned more like a digital library.

Web 2 was about interaction and user-generated content - liking, commenting, sharing. Think of social media and Wikipedia.

Web 3 is the next advancement, using an enhanced metadata system that structures information for humans and machines. The use of AI makes information processing the fastest it’s ever been. It also has improved graphics, and is about creating an even more universal, decentralised open world.

  • The Blockchain is a distributed public ledger that records transactions and stores data. The blockchain is a independent entity which is not hosted by one company or organisation, which helps keeps things secure and accurate. The blockchain secures the identification and non-transferability of digital stocks and is the underlying process that makes cryptocurrencies possible. NFTs are typically held on the Ethereum blockchain.

  • Smart contracts are programs stored on the blockchain that automate the execution of an agreement. When predetermined conditions have been met and verified (such as releasing funds to the appropriate body or sending notifications) a network of computers execute these actions. Smart contracts are used so that all participants can be immediately certain of the outcome and that only registered parties have access.

  • Cryptocurrency aka. crypto is a virtual currency that uses cryptography to secure transactions. Existing on blockchain, cryptocurrencies do not have a regulating authority, but use a decentralised system to record transactions and issue new units. In other words, cryptocurrency doesn’t rely on third parties (ie. banks) to verify transcaions and is not tangible currency.

Some examples of cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple.
