Our Digital Art Platform and why we use NFTs and Blockchain technology

Digital art is the next frontier of the art world. An infinitely more expansive, diverse, and accessible space than the legacy structures of traditional art, the potential to share, captivate audiences, and capitalise on art is more abundant than ever.

However, without firm protections for artists’ IP, recurring revenue, and ownership verification, the digital art world won’t be a sustainable or nurturing environment for artists.

This is where Sugar Glider Digital’s expertise and experience is leading the charge.

Our mission as a Digital Art Platform

Establishing the importance of digital art as a tool for artistic empowerment and accentuating artistic talent is at the forefront of Sugar Glider’s digital art platform.

Our mission at Sugar Glider Digital is to platform the dynamic, agile, and fluid nature of digitally native art. Rotating great digital art in as many spaces as possible and providing the opportunity for quality storytelling across a multitude of environments.

Demonstrating the expansive possibilities for artistic display and exhibition of digital art like digital sculptures, we hope to solidify the value of digital art beyond a “return on investment”.

Why we use NFTs and blockchain technology

Ensuring artists can monetise their digital art pieces with equitable compensation and that consumers are engaging with art of aesthetic integrity is a core motivation of our digital curatorship.

Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs) have created previously unattainable scarcity and unique ownership of digital artworks, which has brought forth a wave of high-profile sales and cultural hype to the world of digital art. The unfortunate nature of this economy is unsustainability and unpredictability.

There is no security for artists in the boom-and-bust marketplace.

At Sugar Glider Digital we use blockchain to empower artists - our focus is to secure IP for our artists, verify provenance so ownership follows the life of the artwork, and provide recurring revenue for secondary market sales.

Why is our digital art Platform unique/important

The transition to web3.0 and emergence of blockchain have led to a wealth of innovations that have shifted the way digital art is valued, exhibited, and monetised. But the race to capitalise on these developments has transformed digital artworks into brand commodities rather than pieces of artistic and aesthetic value.

The presence of tastemakers, experts, and creative placemaking has become a necessity to battle the over-tokenisation of digital art, as without a critical voice the NFT art market is at risk of hyperinflation.

Championing the power of blockchain technology, our digital art platform is seeking to evolve past the boom and bust of the early digital art marketplace into an environment that protects consumer interests and artistic vision alike.

Leveraging our experience producing public art projects with non-digital artists at Art Pharmacy, we bring real relationships with our clients and real-world applications for digital art.
